boondock

Verb
  1. To camp in a dry brushy location.
  2. To stay in a recreational vehicle in a remote location, without connections to water, power, or sewer services.

I have to say I was skeptical at first about travelling this way, but what a wonderful discovery!  Nothing comes close to watching the sunset every evening, and the sunrise every morning.   We used apps such as iOverlander, freecampsites.net and park4night to find our location.  The map below shows where we settled each evening.

The drive from Toronto to New York City is beautiful!  So many waterfalls and cute little towns along the way.  We stayed in Staten Island and took the free (!) Staten Island Ferry to Manhatten every morning.
